Thanks and Giving
Courtney • Nov 21, 2017

Fall days are upon us, and we are grateful for the cooler weather. We just wrapped up some of our favorite Parkside events – Fall Fest and Ghosts of the Past – and the children put their full energy into both of them!

Earlier in the semester, we enjoyed another beloved tradition – the Fall Campout at Pedernales Falls State Park. Current and former families come to explore, swim, eat, and sing together under the Texas sky, and this event always proves to be the most popular of the year. For some children, it’s their first time to camp or roast marshmallows or try a rope swing, and experiencing these things with school friends makes the memories even more special. Now we’re looking forward to the spring version of this event – the Parkside Campfire!

This year, we are participating in #GivingTuesday , a global day of giving that kicks off the charitable season on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Beginning Tuesday, November 28th and continuing through the end of the year, we are inviting our community to “Come Play Outside” or “Come Play Music” by supporting our Come Play with Parkside campaign for playground and Community Room improvements. Our goal is to raise $20,000 by December 31st, and donations can be made to our Amplify Austin page , where you’ll also find more information and pictures.

In addition, we’ll once again be participating in Amplify Austin this spring as our primary fundraiser for the year. We’d like to offer heartfelt thanks for your past support, and if you are considering a Giving Tuesday or year-end gift to Parkside, please contact Courtney Moore with any questions. Know that your generosity is deeply appreciated and will help us continue to educate and nurture Austin’s children for generations to come.

We hope you have a joyful holiday season, and we thank you for the simple gifts of community that we are privileged to enjoy year-round.
