Parkside’s Be Involved program

Parent participation is integral to the spirit and day-to-day operations of Parkside. Every moment a parent spends being involved on campus helps to improve our school, strengthens our community ties, and saves money that would otherwise be spent on outside contractors. Parkside is truly a place where families come together and where we all pitch in to help our school and our children reach their full potential.

The more involved you are with Parkside, the more you will help to create the best possible experience and education for your child. When you attend parent conferences and classroom parent meetings, you build connection and trust with your child’s teachers. We also highly encourage you to attend our periodic Parent Education events, which focus on topics such as childhood development stages, the Montessori method, and brain development research. Our Simple Gifts gatherings, annual campouts, guitar recitals, and other school-wide events offer wonderful opportunities to get to know other Parkside families and staff.

Upon enrollment, we ask your family to volunteer a minimum of 20 hours per school year or donate the financial equivalent of $20 per volunteer hour. Parents can be involved with classroom help, campus improvements, or event planning and volunteering. In addition, parents can earn hours by attending parent education events. There are also take-home projects available, so we have a wide variety of ways and opportunities to earn volunteer hours and help the school.

To coordinate all volunteer efforts, we use SignUpGenius, an online volunteer service that allows you to view assignments, sign up, and track your hours for specific tasks and events.  For our current families, to create an account with SignUpGenius, please contact Shannon, our Director of Admissions. We thank you in advance for your help and support, and look forward to being involved with you this year!

“Parkside is more than just an amazing Montessori school, it is a community of parents, teachers, students and staff who care for, guide and support one another. It is an environment where everyone grows and we are so grateful to be a part of it. ”
