  • We are really in the swing of things here on campus, preparing for some favorite events this week – Ghosts of the Past on Thursday, November 2nd and Fall Fest on Saturday, November 6th. These are both opportunities for learning, fostering community, and creating lasting memories, all of which Parkside is dedicated to providing to every child and every family entering our gates.

Our Fall Fest is open to the public, and we welcome friends old and new to join us [...]

  • We began a new school year on August 28th, our fourth on this campus, and the air was full of as much joy and excitement as it was our very first day on Toomey Road. It’s always a pleasure to see the children enter their sparkling classrooms, meet and reconnect with friends, and dive in to their work with great enthusiasm.

Over the summer, we welcomed new staff members and implemented new programs and are preceding with a renewed attitude of [...]

  • Our 25th Anniversary celebration was a huge success, and we were thrilled that so many members of our community could join us! It was a brisk, spring day, but the rain held off, so we were able to enjoy our incredible outdoor spaces and offer classroom tours to our guests. The children’s beautiful artwork decorated the campus, and we were all entertained and inspired by musical performances from current and former students. Seeing sweet faces from years past was a [...]

  • We all know that music is a big part of the culture at Parkside, and we are excited to highlight it at our 25th Anniversary Celebration! Joe has been dreaming of a Parkside Music Fest for years, so here’s our plan:

3:30-5 pm – Solo Performances: Current and former students who would like to share their musical talents are invited to perform one song in a Cultural Challenge-type show. Performance slots are 5 minutes each, and we welcome vocalists and musicians [...]

  • As a small token of our appreciation for our Parkside friends, donors, and extended family members, we would like to share quarterly updates on news and events, and invite everyone to stay connected to our community. Click here to see our inaugural edition of The Parkside Connection.

In addition, we sincerely hope everyone can join us for our 25th Anniversary celebration on Saturday, April 22nd, from 3-7 pm, here on campus. We are looking forward to an afternoon of music, food, [...]

  • Amplify Austin, Amplify Parkside!

In 2015, Parkside Community School began participating in Amplify Austin, a 24-hour day of online giving to Central Texas non-profits. The campaign was created by I Live Here I Give Here in an effort to increase philanthropy in Austin and surrounding areas. All donations are submitted online via a web platform that is utilized by over 600 local non-profit organizations. By changing our annual fundraising event from a traditional gala to this crowd-sourcing model, we were able [...]

  • Music plays such an important role in the Parkside community! Here’s a great read from the Michael Olaf Montessori Newsletter (July 2016), “The Music Environment form the Beginning to the End” by Susan Mayclin Stephenson.

The natural urge to sing, dance, to make and listen to music wells up from the depths of each person, from birth to death. It can be stamped out at an early age or it can be fostered to enrich all of life. In this article [...]

    Parkside’s first Simple [...]
