Fundraising

  • We are back! The children have returned to campus, and the staff is moving on to the wonderful business of guiding and growing these magnificent humans. In our sixth year on this campus, we are thrilled to welcome new families and staff members while carrying on the traditions and culture that Joe and Claire have lovingly fostered since 1991. We are so fortunate to have their continued presence and guidance on campus, even as they transition toward retirement, and I [...]

  • Springtime is always packed to the gills with special projects and events that showcase the children’s personal growth and the rich lessons that have been presented in the classrooms over the school year. It’s such a pleasure to see each child, from Primary through Upper Elementary, rise to the challenge and celebrate their accomplishments!

We were recently inspired and educated by our Elementary children through Lower Elementary’s Invention Fair and Upper Elementary’s Science Fair! These wise and creative minds [...]

    Love Abounds

Last week, we hosted our first-ever Grandparents’ and Special Friends’ Day – and by all accounts, it was a big success! The weather was glorious, the singing was beautiful, and the company was delightful. We had nearly 100 guests, and after Simple Gifts, they were invited to tour their child’s classroom. We know that many of our children are able to attend Parkside due to the generosity of grandparents, extended family, and special friends, and we are so grateful for [...]

  • Fall days are upon us, and we are grateful for the cooler weather. We just wrapped up some of our favorite Parkside events – Fall Fest and Ghosts of the Past – and the children put their full energy into both of them!

Earlier in the semester, we enjoyed another beloved tradition – the Fall Campout at Pedernales Falls State Park. Current and former families come to explore, swim, eat, and sing together under the Texas sky, and this event [...]

  • We are really in the swing of things here on campus, preparing for some favorite events this week – Ghosts of the Past on Thursday, November 2nd and Fall Fest on Saturday, November 6th. These are both opportunities for learning, fostering community, and creating lasting memories, all of which Parkside is dedicated to providing to every child and every family entering our gates.

Our Fall Fest is open to the public, and we welcome friends old and new to join us [...]

  • Our 25th Anniversary celebration was a huge success, and we were thrilled that so many members of our community could join us! It was a brisk, spring day, but the rain held off, so we were able to enjoy our incredible outdoor spaces and offer classroom tours to our guests. The children’s beautiful artwork decorated the campus, and we were all entertained and inspired by musical performances from current and former students. Seeing sweet faces from years past was a [...]

  • We all know that music is a big part of the culture at Parkside, and we are excited to highlight it at our 25th Anniversary Celebration! Joe has been dreaming of a Parkside Music Fest for years, so here’s our plan:

3:30-5 pm – Solo Performances: Current and former students who would like to share their musical talents are invited to perform one song in a Cultural Challenge-type show. Performance slots are 5 minutes each, and we welcome vocalists and musicians [...]

  • Amplify Austin, Amplify Parkside!

In 2015, Parkside Community School began participating in Amplify Austin, a 24-hour day of online giving to Central Texas non-profits. The campaign was created by I Live Here I Give Here in an effort to increase philanthropy in Austin and surrounding areas. All donations are submitted online via a web platform that is utilized by over 600 local non-profit organizations. By changing our annual fundraising event from a traditional gala to this crowd-sourcing model, we were able [...]
